Uncork your inner sommelier, and scientist, at the 8th annual Science of Wine presented by Southern Glazer’s Wines and Spirits.  The Science of Wine is not just another wine tasting, but an oenological odyssey with presentations on multiple aspects of wine growing and wine tasting as well as the opportunity to sample more than 150 fine wines from the world’s most important wine regions and some of the best food from your favorite region, Central Florida!

As you sip your wine, enjoy special experiences including performances by True Legacy, Central Florida’s sensational R&B vocal group that brings together a rare blend of soul, funk, and R&B that stirs the soul of any listener. Also, thanks to our partner Super Awesome Cool Pottery, you’ll have an opportunity to paint a Science of Wine-inspired canvas to take home with you! And guests will go wild for encounters with some of our NatureWorks animal ambassadors, who will be visiting the event.

Wine Seminar

6:30 PM in Founders Room
Tickets are $20 per person*

At this year’s Science of Wine seminar, Julie Pepi, CSW Director for Fine Wine in Florida for Trinchero Family Estates, will take on a tour of Old World and New World wines! The most basic difference between these wines is geographic: “Old World” refers to the traditional winegrowing regions of Europe, while “New World” refers to everything else.

During the seminar, you will take an in-depth look into the differences but also focus on the similarities — How and when did we bring European Winemaking sensibility to California? What is the history behind it? Do Old World wines taste different than New World wines? We will delve deeper into regions, styles, tastes and characteristics and enjoy the best from both worlds!

*Must purchase a ticket to Science of Wine to attend.

Swine & Sons Provisions Cooking Demos

Hosted by Alexia Pohl Gawlak, Chef and Partner of Swine & Sons Provisions
Tickets are $20 per person.*

Join Alexia Pohl Gawlak, Chef and Partner of Swine and Sons Provision as we explore the cooking technique of sous vide. With traditional cooking methods, heat flows from a burner to a pan then into our food, cooking it. Because the air in the oven and the metal in the pan are much hotter than you want your food to be, you have to take it away from the heat at just the right time. Take it off too early or too late and your food is either over- or undercooked. During this demo, learn how sous vide perfects the cooking experience and eliminates mediocre meals.

Thank you to our partner, Swine and Sons for leading guests on this cooking journey!

One lucky guest in each demo will have the opportunity to win a Joule, the world’s smallest, smartest, and sexiest sous vide tool, perfect for sous vide novices and experts alike. Thank you to Chef Steps for providing our guests with the opportunity to use the Joule at home.
