The Dr. Nelson Ying Science Competition encourages students to help humanity through scientific research. High-school students submit research papers to be reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges.
Every year since 1999, Dr. Nelson Ying has hosted this competition in collaboration with the Orlando Science Center. Ying is a philanthropist, scientist and entrepreneur and wants to inspire tomorrow’s science leaders today.
Awards include:
- A three-day, expenses-paid event culminating in an awards luncheon for all five finalists
- $5,000 Ying Prize for the Grand Prize Winner, plus $1,000 to his/her teacher and $1,000 to his/her principal
